15 Best FTSE 100 Brokers

Best FTSE 100 BrokersFTSE 100 is a share index of the top 100 countries with the highest market capitalization. In this article, we reveal our 15 Best FTSE 100 Brokers and we review the features, trading conditions and instruments these brokers offer.

What is the FTSE?

The FTSE (Financial Times Stock Exchange) is a well-known index that contains the 100 (or 250) largest companies listed by market cap on the London Stock Exchange. This index is also known as “Footsie”.

The FTSE index is maintained by FTSE Russell and is reviewed on a quarterly basis, giving companies a fair opportunity to get a higher index when that company’s market cap increases.

A higher index is beneficial to companies because it makes a better impression on investors and share prices generally increase. However, when a company’s index drops, share prices may be devalued.

Any company seeking to claim a spot on the FTSE list is required to have a market cap that will place it 90th in the index, to be promoted or below 111th to be removed.

FTSE100 is the most well-known index, but there are also other FTSE indices such as:

  • FTSE 250 – containing the 250 “next largest” companies
  • FTSE 350 – a combination of the FTSE 100 and 250 indices
  • FTSE Small Cap – the 350th to 600th largest companies
  • FTSE All Share – a combination of the FTSE 100, 250 and Small Cap indices

How to invest in the FTSE 100 index?

The easiest way to invest in the FTSE 100 index is by pooling your funds into baskets through qualified fund managers, which gives you an opportunity to invest in specific types of companies on the index, or the top performers of the quarter.

Using the FTSE index makes it much easier to choose companies to invest in because you can easily choose from a list, as opposed to spending hours doing research before you can make any decisions.

There are different ways to invest in FTSE 100, but trading with one of these brokers will simplify the process significantly.
